"Communications and Life Sciences" Course

The CSSI has partnered with Biology, Bioinformatics and Genetics, and the Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Biosciences Predoctoral Training Programs to offer a new, interdisciplinary course, “Communication and Life Sciences.” This course trains students in the life sciences to target their messages successfully for different audiences, work more effectively in transdisciplinary research teams, and affect behavioral change in the public sphere. The three modules are taught jointly by a member of the Communication faculty and the Life Sciences faculty, covering topics of:

  1. Communication and Risk
  2. Communication and Emotion
  3. Communication within Teams
