"EDUCATING THE ACADEMY" VIDEOS
Communication scholars participating in the CSSI have committed to developing educational videos to help scientists understand major elements of communication that affect behavior change. For a brief introduction to Changing Behavior through message design, watch the video below:
"COMMUNICATION AND LIFE SCIENCES" COURSE
The CSSI has partnered with the Computation, Bioinformatics, and Statistics (CBIOS) and the Eukaryotic Gene Regulation (EGR) Predoctoral Training Programs to offer an interdisciplinary course titled, “Communication and Life Sciences”. These Training Programs prepare young scientists to excel in genomics research that cuts across the traditional disciplines of life sciences, computer science, bioinformatics, and statistics. The new course will train students in the life sciences to target their messages successfully for different audiences, to work more effectively in transdisciplinary research teams, and to affect behavioral change in the public sphere. The course consists of three modules, each taught jointly by a member of the Communication faculty and the Life Sciences faculty: (1) Communication and Risk, (2) Communication and Emotion, (3) Communication within Teams.
