Xi Tian

Biography:

Xi Tian is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences. She studies processes of supportive communication that foster psychological and physical health following non-normative stressors, such as pregnancy loss and the death of a loved one. She is interested in understanding how supportive messages and conversations encourage new ways of interpreting adversity to alleviate emotional distress. As the Assistant Director of the CSSI, Xi is responsible for planning CSSI events and collaborating with the Director to recruit and inform scholars contributing to the CSSI.
